Each capsule contains at least 8 billion CFU (colony forming units) (at the time of manufacture) and at least 2 billion CFU (at the time of expiry) coming from 250mg of a proprietary blend of pomegranate extract (skin), ellagic acid and 40mg of a powerful proprietary strain of lactobacillus plantarum DSM 6595 (100%)

POMEGRANATES ELLAGITANNINS : Polyphenols are a category of chemicals that naturally occur in plants, collectively known as phytochemicals. Pomegranates have been shown to contain hundreds of different phytochemicals making them one of the healthiest fruits. Ellagitannins are bioactive polyphenols present in pomegranates with punicalagin being the most significant one. Typically, pomegranate ellagitannins are not absorbed intact into the blood stream but are hydrolyzed to ellagic acid over several hours in the intestine. Ellagitannins are also metabolized into urolithins by gut flora, which are conjugated in the liver and excreted in the urine.

GUT MICROBIOME : When gut microflora reacts with ellagitannins, Urolithin A is produced. Absorption of Urolithin A is critical to unlocking the full potential power of pomegranate. Unfortunately, bioavailability is very low due to poor gut microbiome and most of the amazing benefits are lost, until now. Our team of experts have identified the MUST HAVE GUT MICROBE that converts ellagitannins to ellagic acid which is better absorbed as well as can be converted efficiently to Urolithin A. Inclusion of pomegranate extract containing ellagitannins along with our microbe will improve the bioconversion as well as help in bacterial colonization.
